Why I Chose to Become an Educator:
Growing up, I never believed I would become an educator in my future. I grew up very compassionate about art and many different forms of it (drawing, lettering, etc.). When I first started out at the community college I attended before transferring here, I had my intended major as the visual arts. One day, my dad and I were riding around when he mentioned the idea of me being an elementary teacher. It really sparked a fire in me, so I decided to teach preschoolers at VBS. It only took that one week of VBS for me to see that teaching was truly God's calling for my life. Ever since then, I have never looked back or doubted this pathway that was set before me! I truly believe God put me here to be a light to young children and to also be able to still incorporate the artistic gifts He has given me! I truly love everything this field embodies.
